Axil chuckled and began tugging me outside the office. We stopped by the kitchen and quickly fixed up something to eat before we went upstairs to 'our' room.

I immediately went to rummage through the bag Liza threw outside the door and frowned at the clothing that greeted my view. These weren't even my style... And was that a thong? She really was a petty bitch.

I bristled in annoyance and glanced at Axil. "You got a spare T-shirt?"

Axil's eyes darkened as he looked over at me, a smirk tugging at his lips as his light brown eyes swirled mischievously, "you won't need it."

I felt myself get a little damp down under as his words met my ears, and I rolled my eyes as I abandoned the idea and went into the bathroom with my towel thrown over my shoulder.

My biggest mistake was not locking the door when I went in.

Axil had followed me five minutes later and had trapped me inside, backing me into a corner as I helplessly fell into his embrace and got devoured by him.

That night, we started out in the bathroom and then continued in the bed as we embraced each other.

The soft touch of something warm grazing my lips woke me up that morning.

I opened my eyes to be greeted by a pair of warm, caramel eyes smiling down at me.

Axil pecked my lips and tucked a curl behind my ear, "Good morning, beautiful. How was your night? Mine was wonderful with you by my side when I opened my eyes. I see your sweet face. It's a good morning, beautiful day." He sang softly under his breath as he placed his forehead against mine.

My heart stuttered as I tried to hide the smile easing across my lips, burying my head in his neck to hide.

"Don't ever do that again," I muttered in embarrassment.

"Sing to you? Why?"

"It sounds so cliche and surreal," I mumbled.

Axil leaned away from me to glance at my face. He reached a hand up to grab hold of my chin and turn me to face him.

He raised a brow, "what was once cliche cannot become reality?"

Axil tightened his hold on me and refused to let me go. He murmured against my hair, "you're thinking too much into this. I wouldn't put in this much effort if I didn't feel for you. I'm serious when I say I want this to work, and you know me enough to know that I wouldn't lie about something like this." He placed a kiss against my forehead.

My heart calmed down instantly at that, and I sighed.

Could you blame me for being cautious? I barely knew this guy.

"Stop thinking like that," he mumbled, lifting me into his arms as he got off the bed. I yelped in surprise and clung to him, wrapping my legs around his waist.

"What are you doing!?" I exclaimed in surprise.

Axil smirked. "We've got to get ready for the meeting today, remember?"

His hand came down to cup my ass as his eyes gave way to what he was thinking.

My already sore body trembled with anticipation.

The meeting today was being held in the town's square. That was the only area large enough to hold thousands of people and so we made sure to organize the event carefully, placing a barricade around the square and taking count of everyone who entered through the gates. We had the cops patrolling the area and keeping things in order as many people began to filter in and out, waiting for the meeting to start.
