At first, I was reluctant but then I eventually gave in. Which was why I was currently looking for something to wear as we spoke.

"You really aren't gonna wear the dress?" Liza pouted.

"No," came my immediate response as I took out a black, long-sleeved dress that fell a little above my knee. Compared to the white, sparkly shirt... I'll call it a shirt... in Liza's hands, this seemed like a better option.

"You really aren't gonna dress up for your man?"

I scuffed and raised an eyebrow at her, "we're going to a karaoke bar not a club so that's a bit much and if he's not dressing up for me, why should I dress up for him?"

"Do you want me to dress up for you?"

Our eyes immediately shifted towards the bedroom door where Axil had just entered. I met his mischievous eyes with a frown.

He nodded in greeting at Liza then came forward to wrap his arms around me and pull me into his chest.

"I like the black dress better," he mumbled as his chin came to rest atop my head.

A sense of satisfaction welled up inside of me at that and yet I said, "you don't have any choice but to like it."

His chest vibrated against my back as he chuckled, then he glanced at the dress in Liza's hands.

Liza hugged the dress to her chest and huffed, "you guys don't have any fashion sense at all, no wonder you're mates. I'm gonna go get dressed and turn into the bad bitch that I've always been."

Then she got up and left the room, closing the door behind her.

I chuckled and shook my head, turning around to face Axil. I looked up into his face and raised an eyebrow, "you hate that dress, don't you?"

He frowned and grumbled, "why were the holes on the sides so large? If you put it on, one wrong turn and you might flash me. Is that the kind of clothing you like?"

I shrugged and leaned up to place a kiss on his chin, "nah, that's Liza's style. She has the body to rock it, so it looks good on her. I feel too self-conscious showing that much skin."

He bent and kissed the tip of my nose, "I'm relieved. I thought I'd have to suffer watching you prance around dressed like that."

I laughed and slipped out of his hold, heading towards the bathroom, "let's go get ready," I called out to him.

He immediately followed me into the bathroom and helped me wash every inch of my body, with both rag and hands.

It took us half an hour before we were finally ready and when we got downstairs, we found that everyone was already waiting.

"I think his life just flashed before my eyes..."

"You mean your life?" I asked as my eyes swirled in amusement.

Liza placed a hand on her hip and glared at Dawson, "you heard what the fuck I said. I mean his life. I'm not dying anytime soon, but he's about to... by my hands... hold my earrings bitch."

She reached up to take off her earrings but was stopped as Dawson grabbed a hold of her hand, tugging her towards the door.

"Let's just go," he replied.

Liza's face flushed as she opened her mouth to say something then closed it, looking at a loss for words for the first time since I've known her. A thought popped into my mind as I watched them leave and my lips tilted up slightly.

I tugged at Axil's hand, "C'mon. Who's driving?"

"I am," Abel said as we left the house to go hop into the car.

When we got to the bar, I immediately went to find us a private room that we could use for ourselves. The main floor was packed with people, and I felt like I'd relax better if we were by ourselves. Especially since all eyes were shifting towards us ever since we entered the bar. I almost felt like a celebrity at that point.
