Fated Or Accident novel Chapter 28

"Hey sweetie. Surprise. You excited?" She said giving me the 'Please be happy about this look'. I smiled at her and let all the bad thoughts ago. I could kill her later, after she cleaned this mess up.

"I just wasn't expecting this."

"Yeah I know."

"How long?"

"Well we've been planning this for the past month. Actually one person came up with the idea. He told everyone so we all pitched in and helped."

"Marco or Kevin?"

"Neither."

"Then who?"

"Me." A deep voice said. And just like in one of those corny ass movies, I turned around and looked at the man that the voice belonged to. The crowd parted and low and behold, it was probably one of the last people I wanted to see. And yet my heart didn't agree with me. Instead, it did this unnatural rhythm in my chest that made my lungs close and my brain a little dizzy.

"Wait..." He said grabbing for my hand and turning me back around. "I thought you would be happy." He continued with a confused and sad look on his face.

"I'm happy that someone thought of me, I'm just not as ecstatic now that I know the person is you." I said emotionless.

"Look. I'm not trying to fight with you Ari. This is your day. You should be happy. If you want me to leave, I can go. It's honestly no problem. Whatever makes you happy." He said with the hard truth in his words. I knew that he would do whatever I wanted right about now just because he was working to get me back but I didn't really want him so it didn't matter to me.

"It was nice seeing you again Nicolas Stark." I said, yanking my arm out of his hand and walking away. I looked around at everyone and they started talking again as if nothing happened. I walked over to where I saw Kevin. I noticed that he was looking over at my head with a very angry look on his face. I looked over to where he was staring and saw Nicolas talking to Alysia. I hope he was leaving. I gave Kevin a hug and I felt his body visibly relax. He wasn't off defense mood but he was definitely a lot less tense.
