It was easy for me to pinpoint the heat signatures of all werewolves simply because their body gave off more heat than normal beings. With this knowledge, I easily spotted the one person besides myself, who didn't carry a bright heat signature. They were hurriedly scurrying about on the top floor of this building, within a secret room.
The image soon disappeared as I blinked my hazy eyes and met Axil's worried gaze.
"Why did you leave the hospital if you weren't healed!? Your job here is done!"
I waved my hand weakly, "There's no time for this bull. There's someone else in this building with us. Another witch and they're on the top floor, at the end of the hall, in the room on your left. They're in another secret room but there's only one exit so if we want to catch them, we have to move now!"
I tried to get out of my seat but frowned as I was pushed back down by Axil.
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
I flared in impatience, "quickly Axil! We have to capture the other witch before they escape!"
Axil's hold on my shoulder remained firm as he stared at me angrily, "why are you helping me to the point of hurting yourself!? Where the hell did your indifference go!?"
"I'm just trying to help! If you want a repeat of all those years ago then just ignore what I'm saying!" I argued but deep down, my heart shook in confusion as not even I knew why I was helping him to this degree.
"I'm not ignoring you, M. I'm telling you to trust me to handle the rest, you're exhausted enough as it is."
"B... But I can sti-"
My words got cut off as his lips came smashing down against my own, causing my eyes to widen in surprise as my body went into shock. His lips moved against mine softly, probing as his hand grabbed a hold of my cheek. Without realizing, I melted into him. Slowly, my lips began to move on their own and I found myself sinking into his embrace. It's been a long time since I've ever kissed someone so I couldn't help the nervousness that bubbled inside of me, wondering if I was doing it right. My insides flared with desire as I accepted his hold, my hands tentatively held against his sturdy chest.
I allowed him to take the lead, giving him access as his tongue slid between my lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer, unaware of our uncomfortable position right now.
The sound of the door closing snapped me out of my trance, and I quickly pulled away to stare at the closed door warily. Then I glanced at the entrance to the lab to see that no one else had come out. I sighed in relief as my face heated in embarrassment.
The door opened once more to reveal Abel, who came in with a blank, forgone look on his face.
I frowned as I stared at the others as they filtered in behind him, the same look adorning their features.
"Did you capture the witch?" I asked warily, a bad feeling festering inside me.
A bitter laugh escaped Abel's lips, "capture?"
My frown deepened as I glanced up at Axil's face to see him staring intently at his brother, his face becoming gloomier the more time passed.
I knocked him on his chest to gain his attention, "what happened? And are you guys using telepathy? That's not fair."
He raised an eyebrow at me, "Allow me to mark you as mine and you'd be able to hear what we're saying."
