She really looked pitiful.

However, I couldn't find it in me to feel anything for someone like her. Someone who killed others without regard and tormented innocent souls for her benefit.

"Close the door and wait outside," Axil instructed the other three guards who stood at the side waiting for further instructions.

They nodded in compliance then left, firmly closing the door behind them.

He then turned to me and nodded, "do your thing and don't exhaust yourself. With us here, she wouldn't dare to make any dangerous moves."

I shook my head and waved a hand dismissively, "it's fine. I can handle her."

I walked up to Tiana's body and knelt beside her, raising my hand to grab a hold of her dirty cheek. I stared intensely at her, my mind swirling with many thoughts and questions. Questions that stretched far beyond this entire situation... questions I've been wondering for years now but never had the courage to search for answers.

I took a deep breath and took back my hand, grabbing the chains that she was hooked up to while muttering.

"Bind thy powers

Bind thy heart

Bind my enemies

Bind the dark

Strip thy magic

Clouded within

I give full judgement

On this person's sins."

I suddenly felt a little lightheaded as black spots appeared in my eyes and my body swayed gently but I kept a tight hold on the chains as I felt the little power left inside of me bubble up and seep into the chains that were hooked to Tiana. The chains glowed turquoise as Axil immediately came to hold me up, his worried eyes scanning my weary face.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

I nodded my head weakly, "I've casted a spell on the chains to strip her of her abilities as long as she's hooked to them so it shouldn't matter whether she's conscious or not.

Axil's eyes softened at that, and his hand lightly cupped my cheek, "thank you."

I nodded absentmindedly and took a deep breath, turning to sit at a safe distance in front of Tiana. I was too exhausted to stand at this point.

I gestured towards her, "wake her up," I told Axil.

He nodded in understanding then went to grab the bucket that stood in the corner of the room that seemed to be filled with cold water.

She raised a brow curiously.

My lip tilted up in disgust, "what did you do to the real Dexter?"

Her eyes shook in alarm as the question caught her off guard and her lips parted but no words came out.

Her expression confirmed my theory even more and gave me a slight sense of excitement.

"What!?" Abel exclaimed in surprise.

I ignored him and stared intently at the flash of emotions that flitted across Tiana's face as she registered my question.

Finally, her wary eyes met my own, "What are you talking about?"

I snorted and raised an eyebrow, "Don't think I'm stupid after that shocked expression you just showed. Answer the question."

Her lips thinned into a straight line as a blank look decorated her face. I knew what that look meant. I wasn't going to get an answer from her, but I didn't need to get the answer directly from her lips.

To prove me right, she responded, "I don't know what you're talking about."

I sneered at her blatant lies and turned to glance back at the brothers, "do me a favor?"
