"Do we kill when we lose control?" Someone shouted out from the crowd.
Axil nodded gravely. "You'd do anything once your emotions are heightened to their peak. It's hard for you to differentiate between foe and friends."
"So, what do we do?"
"We'll need to find somewhere that could hold a thousand raging wolves...." Axil trailed off as his eyes clouded in contemplation. "Is there any place that anyone knows that could barricade wolves? It must be a concrete building with thick walls. The police station has an underground chamber but it's too small to hold everyone."
My mind swirled with thoughts as I opened my mouth to suggest, "You already have an open space right here... Why not use it?"
Axil glanced over at me with a raised eyebrow. "Are you saying you're willing to put up a barrier around this place?"
"Of course. It's not a hard task."
"Can it hold out against brute force?" He probed.
I snorted, "My barriers aren't weak, Axil. Only person who can tear them down are myself; no matter how powerful you are, my barriers are impenetrable." I said with the utmost confidence.
"In that case, why don't we find an open area in the forest for this? I feel like it'd be better for them if they were surrounded by trees instead of buildings," Abel chipped in.
Axil and I shared a glance, then nodded in agreement. It really was better.
"Listen carefully, all werewolves MUST meet back here at approximately six thirty. We'll be counting heads, so if there's anyone missing, we'd know, and you'd be punished severely for ignoring orders." Axil directed as we finally brought this meeting to a close. Everyone was caught up with what they needed to know and where we were going as a pack from now on.
All we needed now was to wait for the full moon tonight.
As everyone filtered out of the square, we began to descend the podium. Liza pulled an unwilling Dawson away in search of Bea while Abel went to go handle a few stuffs at the police station.
Which left Axil and I.
Axil slung an arm around my shoulder casually and guided us towards the car.
"What now?" I asked.
Axil glanced at me with sparkling eyes. "You have something in mind?"
I rolled my eyes at the suggestive look in his eyes, then pulled away and blocked his path. At this point, there weren't many people in the square now, and no one was paying any attention to us who were standing in the corner of the square.
Axil raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"So, about this Clarissa chick...." I trailed off.
A strange look crossed his face as he stared at me, and I bristled.
"Wa... Why are you looking at me like that? You didn't think I was done after cussing her out, right? No, no, I'm coming right to youuuuu."
Axil trailed after my fuming figure with a lost look etched onto his face.
Unknown POV
I calmed my breathing as best as I could and allowed myself to relax, forcing the tension from my shoulders and sitting Lotus style across the cold wooden floor.
I felt the flow of energy around me, opening my pores and absorbing little droplets of that energy into my body. I had to be extra careful not to absorb more than my body could handle.
This was a dangerous method on my part.
I was using the world's natural substance to strengthen myself and allow me to peer further into my mind in hopes of connecting to her again.
I could remember that moment vividly. The connection had appeared out of nowhere that it had startled me. All I felt was her overwhelming fear and her lack of confidence as images of our coven's destruction flitted through both of our minds. Those memories, however, weren't mine.
I didn't know how we did it, but I somehow managed to gain control of her body to help her through her fight but the connection didn't last long and before I knew it, her presence disappeared again, and I couldn't feel anything.
It terrified me not knowing what she was up to, who she was up against, and where she was. I needed to find her. I needed to find them.
This was the first time in years that I've managed to sense one of them, and it made me desperate to find them even more. We couldn't be separated like this any longer.
I tried everything I could to regain that lost connection, but nothing worked. Then that dream occurred where we all managed to meet with each other briefly... And we touched!
